Switzerland

Switzerland was the first foreign country that I visited, needless to say we went for our honeymoon.Megallan Travels had planned a beautiful 10 day trip that covered all the hot spots of the country from south to north.Me and Bo got thermal wear and shoes, packed our things and rushed to the airport to board the Lufthansa flight.

Day 1
We reached Geneva ,in the airport we were supposed to collect our hotel booking details and train passes.Megallan Travels had faxed our documents to Zurich instead of Geneva which lead to a lot of confusion. We checked into the "International Terminus" hotel that was very close to the train station. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was good.

I had spaghetti and Bo had a thin crust pizza in a nearby restaurant and I grabbed some bananas from a grocery.

The tallest fountain in the world of Lake Geneva ,"Jet d'Eau" is an attraction that cannot be missed and we were no exception. The lake is the largest in central Europe that is shared by both Switzerland and France.

Day 2
We boarded a train to Lausanne which is situated on the shores of Lake Geneva.

The train journey on the bank of the lake was awesome. The beauty of the alpine panorama, quaint wooden chalet villages, vineyard-covered slopes and sailboats skimming across the blue waters are just beyond words.

We went to a church and spent some time in a park.

Just 30 mins away from Lausanne is Montreux which is apparently the most frequented resort on Lake Geneva.

After a long walk along the lake we reached the "Chateau de Chillon" castle. It is a historical site as well as a beauty spot.
